Living with a lung cancer diagnosis can be challenging, but you don't have to face it alone. We’re here to support you with a welcoming and understanding community where you can connect with others who share similar experiences and find a safe space to express your concerns and find comfort.

Recognising lung cancer symptoms can be tricky. A persistent cough, shortness of breath, and fatigue can be mistaken for other ailments, but it is essential to take control of your health and get checked, just to make sure.

With You Every Breath of the Way

I'm Emma, and I’d like to share a bit of my journey with you. Twelve years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer. After four years and going into remission, I developed a secondary brain tumour. Thankfully, the operation to remove the tumour was successful.

During my entire treatment period, Nicky Delobel and I formed a strong friendship. We often talked about the need for more support for patients and families going through the trauma of diagnosis, treatment, and, sadly, sometimes losing someone you love. Our conversations led us, along with a couple of other brave people, to set up a much-needed support group for lung cancer in the southeast London area. Given the recent shortage of such groups across the UK, our initiative felt especially urgent and vital.

I’m a very positive person and firmly believe that the mind plays a vital role in recovery. I'm incredibly proud to be a founding member and the life president of Everybreath.

Our group aims to provide a safe and supportive environment where patients and families can share their experiences, offer each other encouragement, and find the strength to face each day. If you or someone you know is affected by lung cancer, know that you are not alone. We’re here to support you every step of the way

.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Stay positive and keep believing in the power of the mind in the journey toward recovery.
